Specialist background in visual impairment, assistive technology, switch access and practical handover.

AGL Access Works is led by Alexander Liddell BSc (Hons), an accessibility engineer and specialist in assistive technology, low vision support, visual impairment access and AI-supported accessibility workflows. Alex works with disabled people of all ages — including adults in complex return-to-work situations — as well as children and young people aged 0 to 25 who are blind or visually impaired, including those with severe sight impairment and cerebral visual impairment. His work focuses on the practical gap between access recommendations and real use. That may involve assistive technology setup, switch access and adaptive hardware design, accessible document modification, workflow testing, user guidance, staff handover, troubleshooting or AI-supported automation.

Alex has practical experience across a wide range of access tools and platforms, including Windows Narrator, Microsoft Voice Access, Microsoft Adaptive Hub, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText, SuperNova, Copilot View, Be My Eyes Workplace, Microsoft 365, Power Automate, SharePoint and Copilot Studio.

He has designed layered access systems for people with compound disabilities — including blindness alongside limited mobility — and produced technical handover documentation for NHS IT teams, employers, case managers and solicitors. His reports are structured to be acted on by multiple audiences: the person themselves, their support team, IT, and legal or professional referrers.

AGL Access Works supports disabled people, employers, IT teams, education settings, case managers and solicitors where access barriers are practical, technical or complex.
